I’m Cristina and my heart has always belonged to teaching. Before starting this journey, I spent over 20 wonderful years as a certified educator, including 15 beautiful years teaching 1st grade. I loved every moment of guiding my students, celebrating their breakthroughs, and helping them grow.

Now, my path has beautifully come full circle. I chose to leave the traditional classroom to step into a new chapter as a homeschooling mom to my own two sweet little boys. Experiencing motherhood inspired me to create Family First. I wanted to build a warm, nurturing space to uplift and support other families as they navigate their own homeschooling journeys. I know how much love and dedication it takes to educate your children at home, and you do not have to do it alone.

My goal is to support what you are already doing in your home. We can partner together in whatever way feels most supportive to your family:

  • Enhance Your Current Routine: We can reinforce and support the lessons you are already teaching.

  • Take the Lead: We can completely take over the planning and teaching for reading and writing to lighten your load.

  • Master Early Literacy: I offer explicit, targeted phonics instruction.

Because early literacy is my true passion, I specialize in these personalized, gentle reading lessons for children in kindergarten through 3rd grade. My goal is to build your child's confidence and spark a true, lifelong love for stories and learning.

To serve your family fully, I have brought together a team of experienced fellow teachers who share this heart-centered approach. We offer cozy in-person sessions and encouraging online tutoring for students all the way from kindergarten through 12th grade. No matter what subject your child is facing, we will support and match them with a teacher who truly understands their unique heart and mind.
